Meadows Museum
Highland Park, TX
28 April 2015
Because we had lived in the DFW area for almost 25 years and
had never visited the Meadows Museum located
on the SMU Campus in Highland Park, we decided to go with a group from Watermere. We enjoyed visiting the
collection; we didn’t remember seeing any of the paintings in the permanent collection
previously. We might have seen some of the ones on loan from other museums: The Dallas Museum of Art; The Prado
(Madrid); The Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Primarily Spanish, the collection includes works by El Greco, Goya and Velazquez as well as other artists.
It took about an hour-and-a-half
to see the art. After leaving there, we went to Kuby’s Sausage House in “Snider Plaza” for lunch. It was an
enjoyable trip even on a cold and rainy day.
