FALL AT THE DALLAS ARBORETUM

FALL AT THE DALLAS ARBORETUM
22 October 2015

Eight Watermere residents and the bus driver left the "Watermere Clubhouse" about 9:00 a.m. for a trip to the Dallas Arboretum. We enjoyed the displays of pumpkins and gourds arranged to complement the flowers and plants. The designers also used straw and other rustic materials to carry out their theme. Creating buildings, animals and other figures from these materials added interest. About 75,000 pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, sizes, colors and textures created the displays, and we found the variety amazing. Even with overcast skies and a rainy forecast, many people, including lots of parents with babies and toddlers, wandered the paths. After lunch in a cafe on the grounds, we returned to "Watermere" and arrived about 2:00 p.m.
