Around the World - Part 7 - Back to Bali for Anniversary

As June 1st was our 46th wedding anniversary, we went back to Bali to celebrate. Our hotel was Bulgari Resort where our villa overlooked the Indian Ocean. There was outside living space with a private pool and an interior bedroom, dressing area and bathroom.

A half dozen or so monkeys climbed the palm tree outside our villa; we heard them on the roof; we saw them on the garden wall. The girl in the bar last night had warned us not to leave anything outside as there were monkeys; we took her advice

This is the bar at the resort.

Here is the public pool.

As Bulgari is atop a high cliff, getting to the beach is an adventure. We walked down a couple of dozen steps to the "inclinator," a conveyance on track to take us down the cliff. Think of an elevator car running on a track with a metal floor and frame and sides of bamboo. The angle is at least 45 degrees in some places. Once at the end of the track, there were 150 more steps to the tiny beach. It was stifling as no air stirred on the cliff. With a private pool at each villa and a large pool near the bar, the beach isn't worth it.

46th Wedding Anniversary - About 7:00 we got a call that a cart was on the way to pick us up. We were driven to a pavilion overlooking the ocean; candles and flower petals decorated it. Yana served our meal. We enjoyed each course and the two hours seemed to pass quickly. After the meal, a buggy took us back to the villa. What a unique anniversary!

The next day we began the flights home.
